The leather used for many leashes is typically 10 ounces or less. This standard leash is a heavier, thicker quality 10-12 ounce vegetable tanned leather. (We also offer an even heavier 12-14 ounce weight custom leather leash at our shop). You'll see and feel the difference!
Snap closure is made from solid brass or solid stainless steel. Our snap closures are more durable are solid brass and stainless steel, not 'plated' like others.
AMISH MADE. This stylish and durable dark brown or black leather lead is handmade in Lancaster County, USA by our Amish friends.

These leather leashes are the best I have been able to find. They are beautifully handcrafted and stitched, just the right thickness of leather, available in 2 colors, and feel great in your hand. Having had dogs for over 30 years, and having tried many leashes throughout that time, unquestionably these are my favorites. there are hundreds of five star reviews of this on ETSY , but none here so I thought I'd be the first. This leash is heirloom quality! The leather is first rate, well finished, strong and supple. Workmanship is superb. The brass hardware beats any of the imports' zinc alloy wanna-be's. I surfed everywhere looking for a leash that harkened back to when made-in-USA products were plentiful, and stood out as the best in the world. This is a great, classic leash that satisfied that search. Yeah, it cost a few bucks more, but buying it supports American business, and besides....your dog deserves the best.
